I cannot seem to get the hang of making the beautiful swirls that I see in pics here! Mine seems to fall or just look..not right haha. Any tips? Any other good ways to frost them? Thanks!
I use tip 1M. Make a circle with it, with the end going in toward the middle. Then make another circle on top of that and finish by pulling the tip straight up to make a point.
The consistency of the frosting might be an issue...I didn't have any luck making pretty swirls with Wilton's buttercream, but Indydebi's buttercream works beautifully.
Here are few videos from youtube, that might help (sometimes it's easier to see it then read it, although Texas_Rose did a great job explaining it ):

My swirls have gotten much better since I started working from the center outwards. I use to start on the outside and work my way in, but it works much better starting in the middle. I learnt that from someone's flickr page.
It looks like some of the people in the youtube videos arent using cuplers with the 1m tip.... it doesn't create any issues with the swirls or bags? I'm still relatively new to this so I was just curious.
