I want to make my son a 3D construction pals dump truck but don't know the best way to raise the cake off the board and attach the wheels so that it looks like it is sitting correctly. Any suggestions would be great!

You could use styrofoam that is 1-2 inches thick... That's what I used for my Firetruck cake. Just cut it about 1 inch smaller than the base board the cake itself will be sitting on. And make sure to 'glue' the styro to the board and also the cake board to the styro, that way nothing slides.

HTH!!!

Here's dump truck I did for my son. http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=gallery&file=displayimage&pid=1277380

I used wood covered in foil and attached to my base board.

Thank you everyone... Very helpful! This will be my first attempt at a cake like this and it's for my son's 2nd birthday. I just want to make sure I do it right and it looks good! Thanks again.
