I am wondering how you all handle really heavy cakes and if there are cakes you simply cant lift on your own ?

What I usually do is if its a tiered cake that I know would be too heavy for me to lift, I dont put it together until I get to the venue. Then I have a small hand cart that I can put the tiers on and wheel it into the venue. If I cant do that then I make several trips to and from the car.
