I would like to make a 3D Hello Kitty cake in a style similar to the one in the picture. I've never done 3D cakes before so I would really appreciate any help and suggestions I can get. What cake is be suited? I was thinking of using the double layer chocolate cake which I got from the chocolate cake scratch off but I don't know how well that would work for this type of cake.
Also how do you stack and decorate the cake? Would I decorate the body and head seperately and then stack or stack the head and body first and then decorate.
Thanks
Hi,
I used this tutorial on flickr for my first 3D teddy

You can adapt this pretty easily for a Hello Kitty cake. I think it answers all the questions you were asking.
Good luck with the cake, it's a really good idea.
You should ask Kitagrl (I think thats how you spell it), she's a member here... she did an amazing 3d Hello Kitty and she gave instructions.
Heres the link to the picture http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_84526.html
This tutorial is really good I want to make the Ninja Turtle for my husband, he loves them...and this will help me a lot. How can we find Kitagrl here, I am not good doing this things yet.
Thank you
