I have used this same one before but for some reason when I was done this one feels GRITTY? looks like it is going to tear easy too. Can I just add more shortening? 3 good sized cakes to make in 2 days ? That is why things go wrong when you need to hurry. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for any help. YOU ALL ARE SO GREAT CC!

can you see cs in it? If so just start kneading it and rub those parts between thumb and finger to smash and knead it in...if thats what you mean, I had that before with I think old sugar. good luck....male a new batch and sift sugar

I have not shifted the sugar before, but Maybe I was just lucky before or the powered sugar was fresher. Thanks for your help. Will give it a try.

If you just made it today try letting it set for a few hours that could help disolve the sugar if the fondant isn't to dry.

dont add more shortening, it will be softer and more likely to rip then.
good luck!
