Hi,
I am attempting to make a small gumpaste crib for a baby shower cake topper. For the base of the crib (the mattress)I am using styrofoam. I am thinking of covering it with paper instead of fondant so i can get exact measurements of the base and cut the side rails the exact size (don't want to use fondant for covering as it adds to dimensions and i think for a crib the exact measurements are critical) So when i will Use the dried gumpaste rails and headboard, what should i use to attach them to the paper covered styrofoam. I am thinking maybe piping gel or RI? What do u guys think?
TIA!

Here's a bump. I would attach with RI. I would be afraid of piping gel making the gp gummy. Since you're attaching to paper and not fondant I think RI would be your best bet.
