I need to stack a ball cake on a square. I know I need to dowel it, but what do I use between the ball and the square? TIA

I cut off a bit of the "ball" to so it would sit flat, put the ball on a covered cake circle, doweled it and it was good to go.

thanks AnitaK, I did it many years ago, but I didn't know what I was doing and didn't know anything about doweling the cakes - I was so fortunate that the head didn't sink or roll - talk about "Off with her head"!!!!!
