when you do a layer cake for like a birthday do you figure different serving sizes than you do for a wedding cake? thanks

No, I do same size party cake as for a wedding.
I disregard the party serving chart.

Simply because I have delivered cakes that were ordered to serve x amount and the savy host/hostess will cut the cake to get x+y amount of servings. They ain't gonna run out of cake even if they go smaller.

Breaks your heart!

They prudently cut small servings and then wait & see how it's going. It's been my experience that if I give bigger servings I'm loosing money and giving them an advantage to serve more than they purchased for.


So I just use the wedding chart.
