I am make an Abby Cadabby cake for a first b-day and I am trying to figure out how to make the top portion of her wand using an edible material. I tried royal icing and the grass tip and that just didn't work. I then tried pressing sugarpaste through a garlic presser and attaching it to the stick part, but that didn't work either. Does anyone have any suggestions?

is the wand verticle or laying flat? maybe if you try to thin fondant, cut in strips and let to dry. they may stand up long enough for your needs..
send me any pics you get, I am actually making An abby cake for my daughter next month, and have her 3-D framework figured out, but still working on the little details.. let me know how yours goes.

Misroxy - the want is going to be lying down and I never thought of how you suggested. I can just lay it on the board and then add the fondant strips. Great - thanks. Yes I will definitely let you know how it goes. I am actually done with her head and I will attaching it to a styrofoam cone for the body.

It doesn't look perfect, but I am working on an Abby Cadabby for a birthday and because she is really small I just made a ball and snipped it with a scissor to get a kind of textured affect.
