Have you ever tried Martha Stewart's 7 minute frosting?

I am doing coconut filled chocolate cupcakes and need a frosting recipe that doesn't interfere with the cupcake or the filling flavors. Will this one work?

is this good for piping or just spreading? I am looking to use it to decorate cupcakes and was wondering if I could use any of the big tips to do so.

I haven't made that specific recipe, but I have made Wilton's version using meringue powder. If you whip it sufficiently, it does get fairly stiff, however, not stiff enough to pipe using a star tip and have it hold the crisp shape as buttercream does, the "ridges" will soften. This is a lovely, light frosting, however. I recently used it on a strawberry cake for my husband's birthday and everyone raved over it.

I haven't used Martha Stewart's either, but just one out of a cookbook -- it didn't use meringue powder. It was delicious!!! I did pipe with it, but nothing intricate. It's the shiny-looking "let's celebrate" cake in my photos.
