I have always done the crisco wilton recipe for buttercream and want to try something different. I see the bulk barn has high ratio shortening, can anyone recommend a recipe for it. I need something for basic decorations and borders, something children would like!
thanks in advance

You can actually use the same recipe, just substitute the hi ratio for the crisco. My recipe is super easy

6 oz of hi ratio shortening
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp butter flavor
1/2 tsp almond
1/2 tsp creme bouquet
2 lb bag of powdered sugar
1/2 c water

I blend the shortening and extracts until they are incorporated, then slowly add the powdered sugar and water alternately until it's all in. Mix it for a minute or so until all the sugar is incorporated. Then I scrape it down and then mix on med-high for 12 minutes.
