Using Rice Krispy Treats To Make 3-D Cakes

I wanted to make rice krispy treats to make a basket ball. The frosting caused the ball to crack and Fondant would not stick how to i mix this? Need help to make 3-D figures.

i used rice crispy treats for the deer head in my photo gallery. i lightly covered the shape in icing and it held up great. i REALLY had to smash the rice crispy together to get it to have a nice shape. i would think the fondant should just stick to the icing. if it's already crusted over, maybe spray a little mist of water to get some moisture..very little...to help it stick. hope this helps.

do you have to frost the cereal if your covering it with modeling chocolate?
