I'm going to attempt making a toilet plunger cake for a friends b-day tomorrow. I have shaped the RKT's and they are in the fridge.
I was planning on covering with fondant but do I need to put some BC on first so it will stick? This is my first time using RKT's in a 3-D cake and I'm hoping to get it right the first time. Any tips would be great!

I covered mine with buttercream first, but a lot of folks on here recommend using chocolate melts to cover it first.

How is that done? I'm such a newbie...do you melt them slightly then pour over the rkt ? icon_surprised.gif

I melt them and them either pour them on or brush them on. Once that sets, use your hands to smooth the rough spots then cover with fondant.

Should I put it in the fridge to let it set quicker, or leave at room temp?

If ya need it quick then by all means stick it in the fridge. Either way will work fine.
