When thawing cakes, do you do it with the plastic on? If so, do you let them air out a little so they aren't gummy at all on the outside?
I set them out for about an hour with the plastic on. And then I take the plastic off. And I let the cakes thaw for several hours.
Keep your cakes tightly wrapped in the plastic wrap til they are completely thawed so that any condensation stays on the outside of the plastic.
No gumminess, no dryness, just moist delishiousness!
