I did my first wedding cake for a client this past weekend and I just wanted to share the photo with all of you since I'm so pleased with how it turned out. No modesty here! Hee hee! icon_lol.gif

Beautiful! It's lovely in all of its details and you're right to be proud!

Doesn't it feel good to get that "first" over with? I did my first last month too icon_biggrin.gif

No need to be humble when you make something beautiful like that!!!

Besides, I've heard of "humble pie" but never "humble cake." icon_lol.gif

Very pretty..I love the simplicity of it...some wedding cakes get too busy with scrollwork and sometimes I just like the simple clean look of just a few embellishments. Sweet, you know? I'd be very proud too!

Beautiful job, congratulations. Simplistic and elegant - well done thumbs_up.gif

Just out of interest, what sizes were the cakes?

Thanks for all your generous responses everyone! I really had fun putting this together. I hope the next one doesn't take quite as long though. Practice, practice!

MrsNancyB, the flowers were silk and I wired them together for the topper.

Makeitmemorable, the sizes were 14", 10" & 6" and the tiers were 4" high. You wanna talk about heavy!!

Pumpkinroses, I hope you had a great time with your cake yesterday. (It's Sunday now, sorry I didn't reply sooner but was having keyboard issues) Make sure you post a pic here! [/b]
