Covering A Tiered Cake With Fondant.

When you are putting fondant on a two (or three) tiered cake.. do you just put one large piece of fondant over the whole cake, or do each tier separately, and then place them one on top of the otehr?

You cover each cake with Fondant and then make sure you put stakes in each layer of cake to help support it.
