Someone asked me to use "custard" as filling. Is custard and pudding the same thing? if not what is the difference?

A custard has cooked eggs in it.

but there's not much of a difference in texture and taste, correct?

They are similar, but I think there is definitely a difference. I hate custard and love pudding. If you want to PM PinkZiab or LeahS, they could give you more info. They are actual chef's. Good luck!
