Have a question of knowing if you recipe is a crusting buttercream or not? I just made Sharon Zambito's recipe for a wedding cake that I made last weekend and it crusted great and loved it works very well for the cake. I was under the impression that for it to be a crusting buttercream it needed powder meringue in it but hers doen't have it in it. Now I need a recipe for a chocolate crusting buttercream to do a cake for this weekend.

I think it's the shortening that makes it crust...
Sharon (sugarshack) also has a recipe for chocolate BC:
