Trying Tie Dye On Bc, Will This Work?

Okay, I have the design for my MIL's 60th birthday. I'm going for a 60's tie dye look, and write "Welcome to the 60's". Well for the tie dye look, I thought about coloring BC in different colors and then dropping the different colors of BC into my icing bag and using the icing tip with it.
Will this work? or will the colors blend too much when I go to smooth it out with the spatula? Will it make the colors muddy?
HELP!!!
