Can I use a cake extender recipe with a WASC recipe? I don't want to double a batch of batter, I only need juuuust a bit more than what one batch will make - is there an extender I can use, or should I just add in 1/2 of everything again, even if that means I'll probably have too much batter then?

The WASC cake recipe is an extended recipe. icon_smile.gif

If you need more batter, use a percentage of another whole cake mix - and then that same percentage of the additional ingredients.

For example, if you need 17-1/2 cups of batter.. Use extra 1/2 pkg. cake mix, 1/2 cup each of flour, sugar and sour cream, etc.

Kathy Sutterby's WASC cake using two DH white cake mixes yields a tad over 14 cups of batter.

Haha, good point, I guess I wasn't looking at it that way, being an extension already.

So as long as I just add in the halved recipe again, including cake mix, I should be good. Excellent! Thanks Jan
