Hi everyone,

So, I have a design (flowers, damask, etc) that I would like to put on a tiered fondant cake. I have the design on a sheet of acetate and wanted to use a projector to project it onto the cake so I can play with the sizing and get the image to be even on the tiers. I wanted to project it onto the cake and then draw the outline on so I can paint the design on.

My question is ...what do I use to do the outline? Is there a food safe pencil? I don't want to use gel colour or Wilton markers ...I don't want it to be really dark in case I make a mistake. Any suggestions?

You could use a toothpick or the thin side of a veining tool to mark the design, then do the painting.
