Hi everyone. Have 40th bday cake for Aug 15th - theme is '80s (!) - yes I know that has come up before. Birthday lady gave following items which remind her of the '80s - stilletto heel shoes, tequila shots, dancing and mini skirts. I am not opposed to using real shot glasses on the cake and I picked up a shoe cookie cutter at ICES convention last week-end. Cake needs to serve ~80 people.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated!
what about a big rubix cube?? That always says 80's to me.
Sounds to me like she was out partying in the 80's! I would do a dress form cake, with an 80's party girl outfit on it (think madonna, layers of lace, miniskirt with leggins under it , etc.) then make a funky purse and shoes and place on a larger cake that makes up the main servings. (oh! the big cake could look like a bar!) Then maybe add some other 80's necessities like a cassette tape, big funky earings, fingerless glove, etc.
God I love the 80's! I totally missed my era (I was too young to wear the clothes!)
