I work with a lady that would like me to make her and 8 inch chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and chocolate icing. I'm not really sure how much to charge her. I thought about $30 or $35, but I'm not sure. I really hate this because no matter what I decide to charge I always feel like I have to make some stupid statement to back up the reason I charge whatever. (Like-Please keep in mind that I'm not a bakery, I can't mass produce. It really gets on my nerves.) Anyway, what ever help I can get will be greatly appreciated. TIA!
That much quality chocolate would cost me more than $30.
yeah, that doesnt sound like enough to me. thats like 24 wedding servings which is only $1.45. with buying real chocolate your profit margin is way down.
you do not have to make some explanation of price, it is what it is. it is a quality, hand made, customised cake - and that comes with a price tag. if the woman makes a comment tell her that. dont be afraid to leave an awkward silence!
as the saying goes, not everyone can afford me and thats ok.
