My daughter graduates from cosmetology school on Friday and is having a celebration on Saturday. I want to make a cake, but have no fondant. I do not hardly have any experience with fondant - so don't want to go there for this. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I have seen some cute candy molds that are hairdresser related like blowdryer etc...Use these ontop of the cake.

No experience w/fondant; don't really want to go there.......o.k.. how about making the cake a blow dryer?
Bake an 8" round layer and 2 or 3 cakes in a tuna can - or similar size; cut in 1/2 and stack, cut side down (line them up in a row). OR use a soup can - 1/2 for the blower part; the other 1/2 for the handle part.

OR bake a cake in a bowl (best if you have a doll skirt pan) and make a head out of it. Put the hair in curlers . It can be comic like icon_smile.gif

I could think of so many things if you used fondant.

The only thing that I can think of (besides the blowdryer) is a little book that could say whatever you want. Or maybe a diploma cake.
