What's Easier? Darth Vader?

I need to do a darth vader cake for Saturday. Do you think it would be easier to carve a cake or use the styrofoam heads like the spider man cakes? I only need this cake for around 30 people, and i'm horrible at carving, I wish I wouldn't have agreed to this cake. icon_redface.gif

Does is need to be a carved cake? If not you can do a fondant piece to lay on the cake. Darth should be pretty easy to do in layers. For examples of what I mean you can check out some of my pictures. Just get a pic of what you want and use it as a pattern. If you need help feel free to pm me.

Oh I thought of another option. You can do as I suggested but use a really large pic then out it on cardboard and trace around so you have a sturdy pattern. Use that to cut out the shape of his head, cover the entire thing in black fondant and then layer the other pieces ontop of that.
