Ladies I have another question of how high is a typical a tier for a wedding cake. I'm using 3" pans, I'm going to be cutting it in half and filling it we strawberry filling for the 14" cake. The 2nd tier is chocolate cut in half and filled with peanutbutter buttercream. The top tier is chocolate cut in half and filled with buttercream. I'm not sure that this will be high enough or do I need to bake 2 of each cake tiers and torte each layer, I'm thinking that would be very big cake. So any help would be of great help.
standard is 4" tall, so by the time you add the filling and icing, you should be ok.
