I need to make a 2 layer (12") 'dartboard' this weekend. My friend wants red velvet. Anyone have any suggestions for a dense recipe that will hold fondant?

I just tried MacsMom's red velvet recipe. It's a variation of the WASC recipe. I carved it a little bit and covered it in fondant and it worked fine. http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=df4f9hbq_46cs9f28fs You'll have to scroll down to find it.

I use the one on Pink Cake Box's website...if you want scratch, it's delicious. It doesn't rise a whole lot, so I've found I need to double the recipe for anything bigger than a 6"! but it is so good - my most requested cake by far.
