i just tried IMBC for frosting for a cake and it was wonderful, but instead of using butter i used shortening bc i understood that this would more stable in 100+ degrees here in TX, then i tried to make roses with it and it was way to soft, not even adding sugar fixed it, and then it got liquid, i dont know why. So i was thinking that maybe this is a great bc for frosting but not for decorations especially roses.... Am i right? Of course im a newbie... jeje
It was probably too warm... try putting it in the fridge for a few minutes at a time... also when ever mine (although some people disagree but it always works for me) i add more butter to it (shortening in your case) and whip whip whip... as for roses its alittle tricky to do them with this type of bc... takes practice and not hot hands!! Try cooling it awhile (very little while) and using a cold pack! HTH and maybe someone will answer better!!!
