I was wondering if anyone out there knows how many boxes of cake box mix will go into a 14 inch pan?

Thank you.

Boxes of cake mixes vary depending on which kind of cake it is and the brand. According to Wilton's serving guide/baking time/batter amount chart the 14" - (2" deep) pan holds approx 10 cups of batter (1 - 2" layer). They also state that each mix will have anywhere from 4-5.5 cups of batter. Check the box it should tell you how many cups there are.

Here's the link from Wilton (it's the party serving guide chart not the wedding one):

I almost always use Betty Crocker and a 14"x2" round pan will need 2 cake mixes.

Always fill a pan 2/3rds full of batter to get a 2" cake layer.
I never measure batter........YUCK! how messy icon_sad.gif
