Piping Silver Or Gold Royal Icing

Up to now if I have to put metallic lettering on cake I have been piping it in white royal icing and then painting the piped letters with Silver/Gold Dust diluted with White Alcohol.
Is there anyway though that I could actually make silver/gold royal icing and pipe it direct.

I mix a lot of dust with a bit of RI. Depending how much I have to do I might not use a piping bag just fill the tip half way and use my finger for pressure. Look at some of the first cupcakes on cakejournal.com...beautiful scrolls.
