I was asked by a co-worker to make a cake for a wedding rehersal dinner. I agreed and the ideas are coming together. I also have a friend who's husband I work with. The co-worker has asked her as well to make another cake for the same event along with me. She has different ideas than I do and I'm not sure how to pull this off with the two of us working together.

The co-worker has asked that we both make possible slab cakes, similar in looks.

Any ideas on how to do this? Should we both just do our own thing or should we do them almost the same and try to come up with an idea?

Any reply would be helpful!

I think the cake will be distiguishable as "matching" if the cakes have the same colors and style. If she goes for a lacey look or ornate trims and you do the same but your own twist--then I think it could possibly work (just an example).
