How Do I Make This Wave?
Decorating By SweetCelebrationsCakes Updated 26 Jul 2009 , 9:32pm by FlourPots
A lady emailed me this picture of this cake and asked if I could do it for her son's birthday. I really want to try but can't get my head around where to begin; what is this cake made of a few rounds stacked and carved is all I can come up with. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

It reminds me of a helmet shape with a little different carving, of course.
For the one in my avatar...I used three 6" rounds and half of the Wilton Sports Ball pan for the top.
I also made a larger one using three 8" layers and the Wilton Soccer ball pan for the top...you can see a photo on this thread:

Both sizes could easily be carved into the wave you need.
