My daughters friend asked me to make a Halloween themed birthday cake. She wanted "like a wedding cake and not cheesy" It's only for 10 19 year olds so I told her 1 cake will be plenty.

My idea: caked covered in deep purple fondant, the top will have 1 single long stemmed black rose with silver thorns. Draped over the side and part of the rose stem will be a spider web, a few drops of blood will be "dripping" from one thorn. I thought simple, elegant and fairly easy!!!

ANy suggestions, tips or other "not cheesy" ideas?

Thx

Irene

i think it sounds brilliant!
i would clear the idea with the person ordering the cake, wedding, non-cheesy and halloween are not a common mix, so she might be expecting something very different.
