Hi guys,
I'm making my first wedding cake and I'm a little nervous. I was wondering how many lbs of fondant I would have to buy to cover up the whole cake. Minimal amount of flowers, ect.
Thanks a million!

I just made a 3 tier, 6, 8 10 inches and used almost a 4lb tub. I would say 6 or 8 pounds probably with some room just incase.

A 4 tier cake can be an 8, 7, 6, 5 inch rounds or can be something like 22, 20, 18, 16 inch squares. I suggest you check the chart suggested above.

I just covered a cake today with Satin Ice. It's a 9 inch round, 12 inch hexagon and 16 inch square. The tiers were 4 3/4 inches tall. I ordered a 20 pound bucket and have 8 pounds left. I'm fairly new at covering cakes with fondant and I was paranoid about not having enough. But, I'll use the extra.

HTH
