I was just wondering if you would be able to cover cake balls with ganache instead of just melted chocolate? I tried to make some cake balls last night with melted chocolate and they look horrible! they were all lumpy looking. I thought if you could do it with ganache you could pour it on the balls to get a smoother finish.
Has anyone tried this??

I'm not sure about cake balls (since I only had one very disasterous experience with cakeballs and have vowed never again), but I do use ganache on cheesecake balls and it works really well - better than melted chocolate (and it tastes better too!!)

OK so i tried the ganache and it worked great!! super smooth looking!
