My MMF has been coming out sticky and not drying. I'm sure it has something to do with the heat and humitity. I'm in Austin, TX and it has been HOT!!!

I read if you add tylose powder it will help harden like gumpaste. IS this true? If so will the tylose powder take away from my MMF taste? This is a dumb question...but after I add the tylose powder can we still be able to eat the MMF?

Thanks!

I would answer your question if I knew the answer. I have never used tylose powder to fondant before.

BUT, I do sympathize with you for being in Texas right now. I have seen the drought conditions on the nightly news.

I hope someone responds for you. icon_smile.gif

You add tylose to fondant to harden it like gumpaste (rock hard). I don't reccommend eating it or covering your cakes in it, if you add the tylose. Have you tried adding more powdered sugar? I usually use 2lbs. for a batch, but sometimes I need a little more to get it stiffer.
