So, I'm a hobby decorator. I get most of my practice and experience doing cakes for coworkers' birthdays. Our newest team member is Nick. I ask him what design would he like for his cake. Do you know what he said???
Lawrence of Arabia.
I've been scouring Web pages and images, and all that comes up is stills from the movie and the posters. There's no way I can do a figure, and I've never done a frozen butter cream or a chocolate transfer. I'm not even sure I'd have the time.
So, help? Pretty please?????
What about just doing a desert scene? some pyramids, an oasis ...
You can also make a cake with a Middle Eastern theme. Think of scrolls, reds, oranges, intricate designs.
Those might just work. I'm researching ideas now.
I'd try for a more ornate, like the delicate scroll work, bright flowers, perhaps a long 'swag' across the top for the pretty fabrics they used in the movie.
I decided to try and mimic a poster for the movie, to an extent.
So I created a cutout with fondant and painted it. What do you think? The bottom is the printout of the main character from the poster:
Great job on it .. looks great
Here is the finished cake:
and the poster:
Great Job, it looks good. Nice smooth icing.
