Buddy "dirty frosts" the outside of all his cakes with buttercream before adding the fondant. Does anyone know where I could order or get those large tips to try the same technique? Thanks!

Wilton should have them, i don't understand how he can put so much bc on for a crumb coat with fondant.

Wilton tip #789 is one of the large ones like he uses. It has one side with teeth and the other side is smooth. I use them to do my 'dirty' icing (that always sounds funny to me) sometimes. They are very large, I have a large piping bag that I've cut the tip off to fit it, and only use with that tip.

I put a thicker coat of buttercream/ganache under my fondant as well. As long as it's well chilled/firm when I put your fondant on, it works fine.

Yeah, he calls it "dirty ice". Cracks me up! I guess he says it because the crumbs get into the icing and it looks dirty.
