I was wondering if you're supposed to refrigerate or freeze the cake after you bake and before you frost it. My mom used to always freeze hers, but I thought I read on here that you aren't suppose to. Please help!!

You don't have to. I only freeze or refrigerate mines if I am baking the cakes ahead.

It's really a personal preference. I for one like to freeze my cakes even if it's just for a few days. I find it makes the cake even more moist. I always wait for them to fully cool and then wrap several times with glad press and seal and then foil.
Others don't, that's fine too, you'll still have a yummy cake if you don't freeze it.

I do whatever is convenient for each cake. I try to freeze all carved cakes because it is cleaner to carve. It is all up to you!
