Hello all,

A friend of mine wants me to make her a cake. Its easy but i am stuck on one thing. she wants hearts and stars coming out of the top (see photo under this)/ I tryed making them with fondant but it never went hard and they fell of the wires. What elce can i do to make them.

Also how do you colour them?

thanks for the help. Its th first time i done anything like this

The picture doesn't work.

Anyways, try using gumpaste because it dries faster than fondant.

Make your decorations out of gum paste I use wilton gum paste . You can also add tylose to your fondant and make your decorations.

you could try piping royal icing onto wax paper and putting the wire in while wet, then let dry and carefully peel off of paper.

Use gumpaste, I would recommend Satin Ice gumpaste. When I do things like that, I doulbe the heart, put the wire in between so that you don't see the wire on the back, but two hearts. Gumpaste will dry pretty quickly
