Does anyone know how to make Indydeb's regular icing recipe into a chocolate one? I just love her recipe so much, I couldn't think of using anything else! Should I just subtract 1/2 cup of powdered sugar and put in 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, or should I add melted unsweetened chocolate and cut down on the liquid? Thanks for any help anyone can give!
8oz melted chocolate (ghirardelli or better) blended in.
makes it very stiff, so have to add more milk.
for even more intense chocolate: several TBS of Hershey's Special Dark Cocoa powder (or other of better quality -- would use ghirardelli powder but not available in my areas). usually toss in at least a tsp of pure vanilla if adding the powder.
and for mocha -- just add instant coffee to the milk
