Cant Paint Wine Bottle...help!

making a wine bottle cake and im painting on the mixed colors to give it the color of a wine bottle and it it streaking and getting gooey, what am i doing wrong? help its due tomorrow icon_sad.gif

Are you letting it dry between coats of "paint"? That would help reduce the streaks. HTH

Just until it doesn't have that tacky or sticky kind of feeling. It usually doesn't take that long to achieve it. Did you start out with a colored fondant or white? Usually a few coats is all it needs if you dry it well in between. Maybe 20-30 minutes depending on how wet each coat is. Sometimes you can use a clowdryer on a cool/no heat setting can help you work faster.
