Does anyone have any ideas for making Maroon colored fondant. I have tied the 1 part red - 2 part burgandy the color wheel suggests but all I keep getting is different shades of pink, may work if this was for a girl...but lol
I am using MMF if that makes any difference
Our high school colors are maroon and white, so I have made it often enough. It takes gobs of coloring. Just keep at it. If your icing gets too thin from all the food coloring, you might have to compensate by adding more powdered sugar.
Maybe red with brown and black.
I think wilton has maroon....I would start with pink marshmellows
I had to mix maroon recently--I started with a lot of burgundy and added some purple and some red and a touch of black I think. I just kept adding things until it looked right.
Then the fondant got SO soft because there was so much color in there so I added some tylose and it made it workable again.
