If you search the gallery for Abby Caddaby cakes, you may find a figure that you really like. PM the creator, and I'm sure they would be happy to give you some tips.
My most recent cake was an Abby cake. I spent many hours working on her to get her just right, and I have little experience actually making fondant figures. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be.
