I'm not very experienced with fondant but am making an attempt at constructing some sailboats. I cut all of my pieces and let them dry overnight but now I'm not sure how to attach them to the skewer so they can stand up on the cake. Do I roll the skewer in fondant and use water to "glue" the pieces together or is there a better way? Can I use royal icing to "glue" naked skewer to fondant pieces or will that not work? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Several ways...
you can take a marble size of the fondant/gumpaste and dilute it in 2 tablespoons of water and use that as a glue (which is what I use, and make sure to refridgerate when not using). Others have said they use Vodka (I just hate the thought of wasting good vodka that way icon_twisted.gif ). Hope this helps.
