Let me start off by saying I HATE CC's search function....

Ok i have an order for 100 2 x2 cakes covered in green and pink poured fondant... I saw somewhere that I could "melt" down my fondant (satin ice) in a sugar syrup... is this true? or should i use a poured fondant recipe?? (please suggest one!) Then when i make these, do i frost them before I pour the fondant on?? And is poured fondant see through?? and how can I make it not, if it is?
Thanks a bunch- Toni

some people cover the cakes with a layer of marzipan or ice the top and some just use plain and then use the poured fondant. I have seen also that you can cover the cakes in fondant then use the poured fondant. which makes the cakes look very clean looking!!

I just received my latest issue of ACD. I just glanced at it and saw there were cupcakes made with poured fondant as one of the feature articles. Sorry, didn't have a chance to read it. Do you get ACD?

Does the fondant set solid like rolled fondant?

I really like it and haven't had any issues, but I know a LOT of people have trouble getting their first issues, etc.

The gorgeous poured fondant cupcakes in ACD are done by Alan of Global Sugar Arts. Just go to Global's home page and click on the link to the instructions thumbs_up.gif
