Getting Silver Dragees To Stick

I am needing advice on how to get these little things to stick to my butter cream frosting??? I'm decorating the sides of a 4 layer square cake with these and have to make sure they stay !!! any help i would be greatful thanks

I've only stuck them to fondant, and used royal icing, which worked fine. If your buttercream doesn't crust, I would think they would just stick straight to it. Maybe someone can help more!

Clear piping gel...the teeniest dab.

All of the above! Sometimes I use buttercream, sometimes, piping gel, royal icing, and sometimes I even use melted chocolate with a small tip, of course it should be the color of the background so it blends in. icon_biggrin.gif

I use a #1 or #2 tip and put the smallest dab of BC icing on the cake and place it immediately on that. Holds fine.
