I see so many cakes in the forum with a dark colored chocolate fondant that is really shiny.

Does anybody have a good recipe for this kind of fondant that is shiny nad easy to smooth out? Other recipes I have tried seemed to dry out some. When I do a search no forum posts show up and when I looked in the recipe section, most of them are for small batches of chocolate paste or MMF (which I don't like the taste of).

I'm trying to decide between a ganache or the fondant but it really depends on where the cake will be set up at. The bride want a dark chocolate brown color.

Thanks
Nikki

I've seen people steam their fondant with a clothes steamer to make it shiney - like for purses, etc. The shine seems to remain even when dry.
