i have waited till the last min to make a cake and i was wondering if there is anything other than corn starch to keep the fonant from sticking when i roll it out on the matt. i have powedered sugar and not much else. all i have to do to night is color the fondant and i will roll it out in the moring so i can get corn startch then. So i guess what ia m asking is do i need cornstarch to color fondant
You don't need cornstarch to roll out fondant. You can just roll it on a smear of crisco.
I never mess with powders--CS or PS--that way I have nothing to clean off of the fondant when I'm finished.
yep, crisco will work or even cooking spray too. powdered sugar will work but you will have to clean afterwards!
