Was just asked to make my brothers wedding cake. Just a hobbiest and never done one. Stupid question I am sure but are you supposed to cover teirs with fondant and then stack or stack and the cover with fondant? Thanks

I cover with fondant and then stack. Make sure you use a support system. (straws, bubble tea straws, dowels or sps to name a few ways) The bottom tier does not support the one above it. You will need to plan on a border also It is not easy getting the edges perfect. Do a lot of reading here on CC. Good luck

When is the wedding? And yep, put the fondant on and then stack.

99.9% of the time you will have to cover the cake with fondant and stack.

Thanks. The wedding isn't until August 22 but I am supper nervous so I thought I would whip out a dummy cake and start practicing.

Since this will be your first, do practice.
